Palm Beach Gardens Couple Launches their Product
With African American roots and based in Palm Beach Gardens, Trendolyn Hopkins and H.E. Neter Kush Ben Alkebulan were searching for a good non-dairy milk product. Through family stories, they learned that Trendolyn’s ancestors used bananas in a liquid form while working in Africa’s Nile Valley to give them a boost to survive those hot, sunny days.
Fast forward a few years from taste-tests, work and learning from a SCORE mentor and endless hours of outreach to the start of success.
First Banana Wave made it to onto the shelves in Whole Foods and got the “yes” from Walmart. Then the couple and Banana Wave were featured in a Miami Herald Business Monday story called: Can Milk Come From a Banana? Startup Catches the Wave
This couple continues to work hard for the money.
Not content with their progress so far, they hope Banana Wave will soon be offered in Florida’s Publix Grocery stores.
